About Sheffield Out of School Network

Good quality, affordable childcare is essential to parents and carers who want to work or study - and not just until the children start school. Very few jobs fit around school hours and terms - so it's vital that there is out of school and holiday playcare available for those families who need it, as well as provision to allow time out for families who need a break.

Sheffield Out of School Network (OSN) is an organisation which provides support, advice and guidance on all aspects of out of school care in the city. Whether it's advice about how to set up a new club, guidance on training opportunities for individual workers, or support to help an existing out of school club grow or thrive, the team at OSN can help.

Sheffield OSN is a charity which employs a team of workers to support the growth and maintenance of out of school provision within Sheffield. Based in the city centre, the team aims to develop high quality out of school playcare to meet the needs of children and their carers across Sheffield.

How can we help you?

Sheffield OSN offers the following type of support:

• Helping new and existing clubs find out about the financial support available - and then helping them to get it
• Working with clubs and individual workers on achieving qualifications and quality standards
• Providing a comprehensive programme of training and development opportunities
• Identifying where there is a need for new provision, and helping local people to get something started
• Providing advice and support on all aspects of setting up and running an out of school club
• Working with clubs throughout the city to share best practice
• Targeting disadvantage and maximising regeneration opportunities
