What is Out of School Care?
Ensuring your child receives quality care is vital to all parents, so whether you are looking for before or after school care or school holiday cover, you want your child to be safe and happy. Your child will also need to have fun, meet new friends and have plenty of opportunities to develop.
Out of School care is childcare for children from 3 years onwards, operating as one or a combination of the following types:
Before school care
Care for children before the start of the school day, ideal for working parents. These clubs often offer a healthy breakfast and stimulating fun activities before the children are taken to school.
After school care
Children who attend Out of School care will find fun, games, laughter and stimulating activities. Parents can have peace of mind knowing that their children are well cared for and engaged in safe, healthy activities after school. Children are also provided with a healthy and satisfying snack or meal. Activities are planned to help children learn, play and relax with their friends.
Holiday care
These can operate in a couple of ways – ‘childcare’ with schemes taking children from 3 years of age and ‘open access’ schemes only for children aged eight years and over.
Ideal for working parents, attendance at a club allows children to grow in confidence, meet friends and try new ideas and activities. A wide range of activities are undertaken alongside interesting trips and excursions. The emphasis is always on fun, helping children develop their social, physical, creative and intellectual skills.
